Board Of Directors

Corry Ross - Chair Of The Board - KV Oasis Youth Centre

Corry Ross

Chair of the Board

I joined the Board of Directors in November 2020, driven by a desire to give back to our community. Since then, I’ve served as lead for several committees, held the role of Vice Chair, and currently have the privilege of serving as Chair of the Board.

Having grown up in the surrounding area, my family and I have called the KV region home for nearly 30 years, and all three of my children attended local schools. Professionally, I hold an Advertising Diploma and have spent over 25 years with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, a company deeply committed to supporting local communities—a value that inspired my decision to join the Board.

One of the most rewarding challenges during my tenure has been leading the rebranding of the Center and evolving how we operate to better serve the community. This effort required dedication, collaboration, and patience, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together. The unwavering support of our Board members and staff has been instrumental in achieving these successes.

Growing up in this community gives me a personal connection to the work of KV Oasis and a deep appreciation for the impact it has on local youth and families. As a psychotherapist and former teacher, I have spent more than 20 years working closely with children and teens, gaining a strong understanding of their social and emotional needs.

I am passionate about helping young people build confidence, resilience, and healthy connections, and I’m proud to support the meaningful work KV Oasis does to strengthen our community.

Sam Palmer

Hi everyone! My name is Sam Palmer and I'm super excited to have the opportunity to once again serve on the KV Oasis Board of Directors. I am currently in my final year of my family medicine residency and will be starting my medical practice in Hampton this summer. I was previously involved with the original KV Oasis Youth Centre on Pettingill Road from 2016-2020, and am thrilled to be a part of this new effort to help support local youth. I'm excited to see what great things we can accomplish together as a community!

Kari Parsons

I am excited to have recently joined the Board of Directors for KV Oasis. I see the meaningful work the organization is doing for youth and families in our community and am eager to contribute to its continued growth.

Professionally, I have been an educator for 20 years, serving as an elementary teacher and currently as Subject Coordinator for Physical Education and Personal Wellness with Anglophone School District South. I am passionate about helping young people succeed and believe the organization's mission aligns well with my personal values.

As a new mom, I’m also grateful to participate in the services that the organization offers, attending the baby playgroup and Musical Munchkins programs.  Experiencing these activities firsthand has deepened my appreciation for the work being done.

I look forward to collaborating with the KV Oasis team to continue making a positive difference in our community.
